What To Expect From Sessions
My role as a dietitian and counsellor
When you work with me, you can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where your struggles are truly understood. I’m here to guide you on a path of healing, focusing not only on food but also on the emotions and challenges that drive eating disorders.
Together, we’ll work to rebuild a healthy relationship with food, moving away from guilt and restriction.
In the beginning, I focus on helping families understand the eating disorder and its impact on the individual. This initial session will provide clarity on how eating disorders affect both the person struggling and their loved ones. It’s about building empathy, reducing confusion, and giving families the tools they need to offer support without judgement.
From there, sessions will be tailored to your needs. I provide individual therapy to help the person recover from within—understanding the emotional triggers, developing coping strategies, and addressing the behaviors around food. Regular sessions with both the individual and family will follow, depending on the needs. I’ll work with you to enhance communication, provide emotional support, and ensure everyone involved feels equipped to play a positive role in recovery.
